AGC 2009 SESSION REVIEW
arrow
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009

Through involvement in the political process at all levels, AGC and its partnering association members keep the construction industry from being over-regulated and unduly burdened by government. The Federal government agencies, Nevada State Legislature, state and local government agencies rely on AGC for knowledgeable testimony and guidance on all industry-related issues. AGC’s full-time lobbyists are, therefore called upon, to meet with federal, state and local elected and appointed officials to represent the AGC and the construction industry. The AGC is the most influential construction industry association in Nevada and in the United States. It does however, need your help if it is to continue to positively influence government.

The Las Vegas AGCPAC is committed to representing the interests of the construction industry in southern Nevada, plain and simple. A nonprofit political action committee, Las Vegas AGCPAC is organized to elect or defeat government officials in order to promote construction-friendly legislation and protect the construction industry at all costs. Through this entity, construction industry citizens with similar political philosophies pool their resources and have a greater impact on the political process than individual contributors. What does it take to get constructionvoted into office?  Votes. Money. Political intelligence.

To make your contribution to the Las Vegas AGCPAC, contact Mandi Lindsay at 702.796.9986 or download the pledge form here.  View the recognition levels here!

On February 17, 2009 President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, investing a total of $787.2 billion in spending and tax cuts to stimulate the economy, including $308 billion in appropriated spending, $269 billion in direct spending and $211 billion in tax cuts. AGC worked hard to ensure significant infrastructure investment was included in the plan, and ultimately secured $140 billion in construction spending. AGC has compiled information on the policy changes, new rules and regulations associated with the stimulus, programs receiving funding, tax incentives and the impact of job creation as a direct result of stimulus project awards.
